anyone join the military? i'm thinking about joining up with the Air Force. please post any relevant experiences

 

my cousin joined the Air Force now hes in Iraq

 

As long as you're not on the ground in Iraq then I'd say you're at relatively little risk.

Best to sign up for a hitch in the Navy then. :chuckles:

I only had one friend who was in the reserves (AF I believe), he enjoyed it.

 

i have 3 friends in the marines and one in the army.. 2 of my friends in the marines are in for 4 years.. full time type shit.. and my other friend (best friend) is a reservist, and hes in for 6.. he left for africa last week.

my friend in the army is going to put in his papers to get out. he doesnt like it

all i have to say.. is make sure you want to do it, cause my friend is in it for 6 years, and personally, it could get really old really quick.

 

i wanted to join really bad, but found out i had to cut my hair, and i cant, my religion permits it. but hey, good luck, if you do it.

 

bluetwo is in the army and CRXWing_stg3 is in the marines. That's all I kno. They love it though.

I found a lot of the marines I worked with at my old job couldn't wait to get done with their duties (4yrs). On the otherhand, my other coworker who had a wife and kids was in it for the long haul, he enjoyed going to work and serving the country.
