They thought I might have had it when I was in the Marines, as a part of my "testing" i went through after I was having severe reactions to my Anthrax shots.

I was diagnosed with VCD, Vocal Chord Dysfunction. Check it out. Its pretty serious, but not as bad as having an asthma attack. Once you stop breathing and pass out from VCD, your vocal chords open back up letting the air flow, so you just pass out, not die.

Turns out its not that good to have in the Infantry.

I had one of those done to me back when I was a teen. At least all you got was an allergic reaction to those. They got to my 3rd shot and I went into anaphylactic shock. All I remember was waking up in the hospital the next day.

The crap thing about it was this was a new allergist and he didn't even ask my mom if he could run these tests on me, since she knew my history. So we never went back to him.

Ended up in ER more times than I can remember. This one time I remember having an attack, my dad giving me injections and then I remember waking up in a hospital and being told a week had gone by.

Yes... sadly its got some really horrid side effects. I've had asthma since I was a baby... 23+ years of taking steroids and I got sleep problems, really twitchy hands and so forth.

My body was/is very sensitive to allergens. Which is what most people with allergies or asthma are. So my body treats it like a nuclear attack.

Which is why I don't get sick very often maybe once a year at most.

I was coughing alot last year. Found out my lungs were being irritated by something so he put me on Advair and Singular. I would take my inhaler and it's supposed to last 4-6 hours. But I couldn't even make it pass 1-2 hours.

If you wait too long you could develope lung problems.

I'd get it checked out.
