I run longer and feel better when I run outside. Especially when I take the 5 minutes to drive to the river, or to the canal, and run on the paths there.

But I don't gauge how far I go. You get a feeling of when enough is enough, and you can expect to feel the same one day from the next. It's nice to know, but...meh...as long as I feel good after I've ran I have accomplished my goal.

The only function of a pedometer is to measure steps. Thats it. Recording data, like an odometer. What makes you think that its bullshit? What do you think I'm planning to do with it?

A pedometer counts the number of steps a person takes. It helps keep track of the distance a person walks in a given amount of time. There is a school of thought that a minimum of 10,000 steps per day will greatly contribute to a person's health. Many people walk less than 5,000 steps per day, and it gets worse if you only walk to and from your car and your desk.

If I'm gonna run, I just run for a set distance or time...I'm tired by the end.
