Advice on Getting into Med-School
I've heard that it is often fairly difficult to get into med-school so I am just wondering if anyone has any good advice to "one up" the competition. I wont be applying for another 2 years or so and I have good grades(A's and B's). I have a 3.3GPA right now but I anticipate it going up a little. I was thinking if I could get an internship at a doctor’s office or hospital that that would be helpful. The problem is I have limited time and I need money. So it would have to be a part time paid internship(which are probably hard to get). Any ideas or suggestions guys? I know I still have some time but I've been stressing about it lately.
I'll tell you a little story about my friend.
He had a 3.85 gpa from UC Berkeley. Scored above average in the MCAT but he only applied at the top 6 med schools. He got interviews at all 6 but he didn't get into med school. He had over 1000hrs of volunteer hours at the Oakland Childrens hospital.
If really want go to med school, then you will find a way into med school. My friend who should have gotten into at least 1 didn't go to med school. He didn't really want to go.

I plan on applying to a wide variety of med-schools. I will be applying to some of the top ones. But I will also apply to state schools too. I'm really worried about not getting accepted. Becoming a doctor is really all I want to do. When I graduate I will have two degrees. One in Biology and one in psychology.
Study hard, do well on placement testing, extra curricular activities to balance out your educational agenda, apply at a lot of schools.

i cross my fingers and hope med schools dont heavily base acceptance on 'extra curriculars' ...
