I'm a cynicist, but I don't criticize something I've never experienced.

i dont know about you guys but i would not want a doctor who jus got thru college w/"decent grades" .. hell, im not going to be putting my life into the hands of some doc that got in med school based on recommendations and charity. i want someone who graduated w/a 4.0 and knows what theyre doing, not someone who did community service and kissed ass to get stupid rec's

Doctors aren't perfect get used to it. Would you rather have a doctor that got a 4.0 in college and could give a shit about you and really doesn't care if he ****s you up or not. Or a doctor that got a 3.6 in college scored very well on the MCAT's, volunteered in a hospital for 2 years before going to med-school and honestly cares about you. I would rather have the second.

when did 3.6 become a decent gpa.. thats good imo, and i used gpa as a factor that's interchangable w/mcat scores. my whole point was, med schools shouldnt give breaks in admissions. im not saying you're not deserving or not, im jus saying stuff like affirmative action makes me real nervous when med schools admit candidates they normally would not

oh ok, I thought that you were implying that because I didn't have a perfect 4.0 I shouldn't even try to become a doctor, or that I couldn't become a good doctor. And I kinda got mad....but since that's not what you meant...
