You know, I'm having the exact same problem. I've been working out for 4 days now, and I'm not ripped yet...what gives?

how many days are you working your arms? every day? every other day? You might want to give your arms two days rest in between workouts so the muscle tissue can rebuild.

Go get an exercise book. Pick out a routine. Give at least a day of rest. I would suggest working out your entire body, not just your arms. Ripped arms would look ridiculous on a body that wasn't ripped.

you can work each muscle group once a week and get great results. that way you garentee your muscles are fully healed. my abs are still a little sore from my thursday workout. they will be good to go come this thursday with all the rest.

That's my advice too...well said and plus chicken legs on a developed upper body (just to add).

Here's also a good website: http://www.bodybuildingpro.com/

It can depend on the person as well. Some people can burn out one day and be good to work the same muscle group the next day. Others may take up to a week.

true, of course I'm 26 and my body does not recover as quickly as an 18 year old. when your that young your pumping out enough testosterine to recover very quickly. I wish I was into working out when I was that young, I started at 21-22.

I've been going at it for 2 weeks straight, no breaks at all. I did a little bit today but only 2 reps of curls. I haven't benched yet. I think I'm going to take a break though my arms are kind of sore. I do need to work out my gut to, I would like to get rid of it. I'm about 190 pounds. I'm not fat but I have a beer gut. I don't have a cable machnie either. The only equipment I have at home are, weights, weight bench and a punching bag. Sometimes I need to just give my muscles a couple of hours break then I'm good to go again, but as far as break is concerned I think I will take it easy for the next day. At least.

There is no way your muscles are going to recover in a few hours. If you're not sore, you're not working hard enough. Curls and benchpress alone, and 2 sets of each, are not going to get you ripped.

you really should be working all of your muscles. shoulders, back, bicepts, tricepts, chest, forearms, abs, and legs. don't concentrate on just one muscle group, spread it around. if your doing 2 different muscle groups a day you should give your body enough recovery time when bicepts come around again.
