Do explain how my response in this thread is ridiculous? Blanket comments such as yours are open ended and very vague.

How do you figure the threads question is what I feel about gun possession and one of the selections for the poll is to "ban them all" which goes right along with the topic of the thread.
For a PHd you sure don't comprehend well.

well I can see where the issue lays. One of my fraternity brothers owns a glock 22c. Keeps it in a safe and locked up properly. I have even been shooting with him at a range. However, one of his roommates, another friend of ours had friends over really late at night and they were making noise that resembled a burglery and my friend heard the beeping of the gun safe. He had to go and let him know everything was cool so an accident did not ensue. That is what I worry about. No matter how careful you are, what if?

In here we are discussing guns and gun control not anything else...so in essence you are the one who is throwing the thread off course and ignoring the subject.

In modern American society, we do have a sick obsession with guns and violence, which in turn fuels many people's attitudes and opinions on the matter. Hollywood drills into our heads that fighting and shooting and blowing shit up is cool and glamorous. People don't seem to stop and think that the world doesn't suddenly slow down with cool theme music everytime someone starts shooting. Dodging bullets doesn't really work that well, and not all of the bad guys have terrible aim.
