show me a grocery store that carries meats like venison and duck and you might have a part of an argument...

if you support banning cars, what are you doing on a car forum? you be the first to sell your car, the rest of us will follow.... maybe... actually, probably not...
no i have not hit a deer, but there are deer runnign around everywhr in my neighborhood, i actually saw one running down the street, lol.

yes, you are right. most other countries do not have automobilies

and yes comparing a device made to kill, is a good comparison to a device made to transport people/things.

both, when misused, can kill.... more people die in car accidents than shootings every year.. what's the point you're trying to make?

I voted for the one with certain weapons banned, but the one's you listed... a big huge generalized statement of "Assault Rifles" is not how I would list them.

I'd like to do what the Federal Government does (not what California does) and list just a specific model / type of Firearm that is banned and the reason for it, and it has to pass a vote in Congress.

In any case, that's my opinion.

In California there is a waiting period, which you don't like (and I understand why), but there is also a DOJ background check to make sure you've never been convicted of any violent misdemeanor (that includes simple assault) or any felony.

So, that's sort of already there...

It's funny how many guns are still about in the countryside, though.

For all the banning, the country folk in the UK still seem pretty well armed.

It's better to have one and never need it, than to need it and never have it.

Most people have Fire Detectors and never use them either. Does that mean you want to just turn yours in and hope for the best? No thanks, I'll keep my destiny in my own hands, as much as I possibly can.

Of course, EDUCATION is the key to all of this. Just like with anything else, cars, fire, toys, drugs, sex; they're all potentially dangerous but because of education of varying levels we utilize them relatively safely. It should be no different with Firearms.
