Default any bikers here?

i was thinking about getting a mountain bike. i wanted to know if there were people who carry the bikes on the trunk racks. if so, what type, and reviews on them?

i dont want and cant afford a roof rack, and i dont want to take my bike apart to stuff in the trunk. i have a sedan btw.

thanks.

I have a trunk mounted bike rack. I bought it from Target for 40 bucks I think about a year ago. Works just fine. It looks and seems kind of flimsy but it gets the job done. My bike hasn't fallen off yet.. well I drive slower than usual when I do lug around my bike. h: I forget the name of the brand. I did scratch my paint on the bumper once because the pedals were moving around. But that was my fault. It came with a tie to hold loose things in place and I forgot to use it.

I usually put down the rear seat and put the bike in the trunk with the wheel off. Just lay down an old carpet or something to catch grease and shock fluid. Trunk mounted racks will invariably leave some sort of mark on the paint. My car has them, you can see them when the sun shines on the trunk.

I can leave it on if I wanted to. I'll just use that strap the rack supplies so that it won't turn. But I usually do remove it when I mount it. I'd show a pic but my friend is still borrowing it.
