Anyways, read this book. I was given this book by a pastor when I was a non-believer. It's totally worth it.

Answers this and more:
"1) If there's a loving God, why does this pain-wracked world groan under so much suffering and evil?
2) If the miracles of God contradict science, then how can any rational person believe that they're true?
3) If God is morally pure, how can he sanction the slaughter of innocent children as the Old Testament says he did?
4) If God cares about the people he created, how could he consign so many of them to an eternity of torture in hell just because they didn't believe the right things about him?
5) If Jesus is the only way to heaven, then what about the millions of people who have never heard of him?
6) If God really created the universe, why does the evidence of science compel so many to conclude that the unguided process of evolution accounts for life?
7) If God is the ultimate overseer of the church, why has it been rife with hypocrisy and brutality throughout the ages?
8) If I'm still plagued by doubts, then is it still possible to be a Christian?"
But then you also are assuming that I put any amount of faith in the bible as a holy book.

to me "serious" and "heaven" shouldn't be in the same sentence.

like nightshade said, it's to make the outlook of death seem less bleak.

But in reality, if you read the bible God talks about creating such a plase to ban Lucifer and his followers, but in that same chapter (i forget which one it is) he explains how Lucifer will bring down as many people as he can till that day when he is damned to hell he will not go alone and take down all the people who decided to follow him and not God.

Like I said I can go on forever about it
my little fact: the literal translation of "Lucifer" in Latin is "bringer of light" or "to bring light"

luci= light
ifer=to bring

not fire, but light :wiggle: doesn't make a whole lot of sense. no clue why its like that, but oh well.

Alright. First things first, you have to decide first if you believe the Bible. If you believe in the Bible and believe that what it says is true, then I have some thoughts that I'd like to share.

If you however do not believe in the Bible, then my thoughts will do no good, as I base them off scripture.

Having said that, let's go!

Firstly, I believe there is a Heaven and a Hell. When Jesus was crucified, he went to the Gates of Hell and took the Keys to Death, Hell, and the Grave. Those who have not followed Jesus's salvation plan will be cast into the Lake of Fire.

Before Jesus ascended into the clouds, he stated that he was going to prepare a place for us, that where he is, we may be also. Not to mention John the Revelator describes Heaven as he was shown in a dream.

Now, as far as your body's physical appearance, I believe that you will appear as you are now. However, the physical limitations that hinder us now will be gone.

We first caught a glimpse of what our bodies will do when Jesus appeared to the disciples after he arose from the grave. What did he do that was so great? He walked through walls? He dissapeared and reappeared at will. Crazy. There are also scriptures that indicate we will retain our physical, yet physically modified, bodies.

1 John 3:2 - Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.

1 Corinthians 15:44 - It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, and there is a spiritual body.

Keep in mind that this is referencing the Rapture, when Jesus comes back the "dead in Christ shall be caught up to meet him." Those who have died, their spirits will be united with their physical bodies and they will be resurrected, just as Jesus was.

I know in conversations like this there can be a lot of disputes. I welcome all thoughts.
