when should i do the first wax?

Isn't the general rule to wax twice a year anyway? Taking that into account the time is coming up soon anyway.

Why don't you just wax it with permeable wax, that allows evaporation from the paint.

Are you still getting a decent beading effect when you wash teh car? If the water still tends to bead on the paint surface, you should be fine. With teh MX-5, we waited until about 7 mos. after its manufacturing date.

BTW, still enjoying the car I take it? I'm interested in the sedan, but I want to see what Mazdaspeed has in store first. h:

yeah, it's still beading, i just want to make sure i can protect it as long/soon as i can.

and i still love it. i've seen pictures of the mazdaspeed 3, but only the hatch. i haven't heard anything about a sedan version.
