Snubnose revolvers aren't that bad, my father has a Taurus .38 special snubnose that I can print well on a 25 yard target.

The pistol was free to him though, I wouldn't let him actually buy one.

Don't get a laser sight on your first pistol, they are of limited practicality especially for a range gun.

ok, I wont go with a laser sight (although I do think they are cool) but I want one that I can put a scope on later if I want. I have heard of handguns that convert into rifles, but I haven't seen any...this kinda sounds cool...anyone know if this is true or where I can find some?

I'm not sure about the legalities but can you own an AK47 in the US?

They may be cool, but they are next to useless. They're just another thing to break. Why do you want a scope on a snubnose? There is no common sense to that, they're not accurate enough, and a snubnose was ment for conceiled carry. It's just not something that needs optics.

Once again, they're cool but pretty useless overall. There are conversion kits for 1911's, some broomhandle Mausers and Browning Hi-Powers accept shoulder stocks, the TC Contender can be converted... The problem is that if you put on the buttstock without the longer barrel, you're an instant felon (illegal short barreled rifle, except for some broomhandle mausers which are specifically exempted.)

There are a few legal transferable class 3 AK47's out there. Expect to pay about $10-$15k for an original Russian (AK47) or Chinese (Type 56,) plus paperwork, fingerprints, police signatures, a full background check, a $200 transfer tax, and up to a year of waiting. That's if you live in a state that'll let you, and you're over 21.

That aside, there are civilian legal semi-auto only versions. I have two, a Mk.II (Romanian AK-74 clone) and a Saiga .223 (Russian AK-101 clone.) This also assumes they aren't banned in your state.

I wasn't going to put a scope on that gun...I was only going to get a scope if a got a larger more accurate gun (which is prolly what I will end up doing). And the rifle conversion I heard of was for a desert eagle and you could change it into a rifle with a new barrel and everything

ok I found it on the web. Here is the link

Here is the info on it off of the webpage:

MAGNUM RESEARCH Desert Eagle MARK XIX Component System, 6 & 10"
Barrels, Magazines, Calbers: 44 Rem Mag, .50 A.E., 357 Rem Mag

The Desert Eagle Pistol Mark XIX Component System is based on a single
platform that transforms into six different pistols - three Magnum
calibers, each with a 6-inch or 10-inch barrel. Changing calibers is a
simple matter of switching barrels and magazines. (Converting to or
from .357 Magnum also involves changing the bolt.) The barrel design
alone sports several improvements. Each barrel is now made of a single
piece of steel instead of three. All six barrels, including the
optional 10-inch barrels, have a 7/8" dovetailed design with cross
slots to accommodate scope rings; no other scope mounts are required.
The .50 A.E.'s 10-inch barrel will fit existing .50's, as well as the
new Mark XIX platform. Hogue soft rubber grips are standard equipment
on the gun. The pistol's well-known gas operation, polygonal rifling,
low recoil, and safety features remain the same, as do the Mark VII
adjustable trigger, slide release, and safety levers. This is a way to
get all accessories at once. The system consists of an ICC aluminum
carrying case with a black ballistic nylon cover.

SPECIFICATIONS:

Caliber: .44 Rem Mag, 50 Action Express, .357 Rem Mag Semi-
Automatic
Mag. Capacity: 8 Rounds (44 Rem Mag), 9 Rounds (.357 Rem Mag),
7 Rounds ( 50 A.E)
Action: Gas Operated Single Action
Sights: Drift Adjustable Rear, Ramp Style Front
Grips: Anatomically Formed Plastic
Finish: Black
Barrel Length: 6", 10"
Overall Length: 10.75" (6in), 14.75 (10in)
Weight: 71.4 oz.(6in)
Height: 6.25"
Width: 1.25"
Safety: Ambidextrous
Trigger reach: 2.75"
Sight Radius: 8.5"
Twist: 1:18 (44 Rem Mag), 1:14 (.357 Rem Mag), 1:19 (50
A.E.

Unfortunatly I can't afford that exact gun but I am wondering about cheaper things like that...not necissarily desert eagle's

thats three different magazines, 3 6" barrels, and 3 10" barrels. each for 357,44,50.

thats way overpriced, imo. get a kimber 45 and spend the $2k that you saved on other stuff.
