Default those that drive stick

Do you keep your left foot in the air when pushing in the clutch or on the floor? How about when letting off the clutch?

I usually push in with it in the air and then let off with it on the floor and just pivot at my heal.

Since I'm still "new" to it, just wondering what some more seasoned people do.

My foot stays on the foot rest by the clutch, a quick move over whenever I am shifting. Its become second nature to me, but I have seen people with very heavy clutch feet that scare me because I can almost hear the clutch crying.

With my ACT 6-Puck Unsprung i hafta....

When i'm driving in constant traffic, I will keep my left foot on the clutch enough to not engage, so at the instant i have to i can just hit the clutch and shift.

But if its open road or highway, i'll have the left foot on the footrest until i have to shift.

my foot rests on the dead pedal, then to engage/disengage i just plant my heel and pivot.

i've thought about this many a times,
when i press the clutch, my foot is in the air at all times. there is no heel contact what so ever. basically i'm not clutching with my ankle, i'm clutching with my whole leg. i've kind of tried with the heel but it just didn't catch right or something, i think the play on my clutch pedal is too long or i've just learnt that always press the pedal to the end when shifting and stuck with it.

I usually float my foot above the clutch, because my foots so big I can get it trapped on the footrest.

On long highway trips, I slip my left foot under and behind the pedals.
