damn, how much do they take out of your paycheck?? I bring home 74% of my paycheck....you're figuring he brings home only about 56%!! if you only bring home half of what you make, then you need to consult your human resource department and your accountant to make some necessary changes!

hmm, live free for the next 10 months and buy it cash... And a home will bring back a greater return on your investment, homes appreciate, auto depreciate. 80 hours, hard to enjoy life unless your work is fun.

Thank you guys for all your opinions. I really value them.

A couple things:
I DO bring home a little less than 4k a month. Thats after taxes, and medical have been taken out.
I have a job lined up in GA(Thanks to my uncle), which will pay me more than enough to cover my car payment and insurance. Also, the money for school is already set aside.

I really appreciate your insight...and I'll keep everyone updated on how things are going!

Buying a house while you're young is rediculously short-sighted, you have no idea if you are going to be moving for career, or school.

How about a 20k SRT4

Thats exactly what I am thinking. I'm planning on going to college in the Fall, so to buy a house around here wouldn't make since. I would have to rent it out while I'm at school, and hopfully be able to charge enough to have te rent pay the mortgage. I'm hoping to buy a house once I'm through with college, in the location I plan on staying at for a while...I'm glad someone else thinks like me

I thought about the SRT-4...I just don't like Dodge or Peeon's. I would take it if it was given to me though h:

Did you take the S2k back yet?

If so..and you still need a car you can get buy on a used Prelude, or RSX or Civic Si...stuff that's new and you can enjoy but not for thirty grand..

I'm 29, purchased my 99 Prelude used last yr for $13,000 (making payments) and I'm buying a house now and I make $44k in Georgia.
