DAMN it. Parents suck.
My dad found out yesterday that I purchased the S2000, and he said I need to return it. He's talked to his lawyer who says I should get my $4500 downpayment back, and the deal called off.
I'm soooo ****ing furious. He says he doesn't want 3 things:
1) Doesn't want me to borrow money. Says I should wait till I have cash ready.
2) Doesn't want me to spend 30k over the next 5 years.
3) Doesn't think I can afford it...even though I work 80+ hours, and bring home nearly 50k a year...and I have hardly any expsenses. Car payment and insurance are no more then $675 monthly...and I bring home over 4k monthly.
Whatever...that and I've sold my interior, chassis, and motor to a buddy. So now I have no car...and have to find something "more reasonable" for me.

shit.. if u'r bringin home 4k per month & have expences of under 1k buy your self a damn house.. move out.. HAVE YOUR OWN GARAGE!
Plus if u start payin off a house now vs. later you will have it paid off way before most people would.

I agree. If you are bringing home 4000 a month you should be putting a nice downpayment on a house. Cars a toys, houses are nicer investments. And I also agree why your dad is butting into your financial stuff. How old are you? Are you still living at home? Is he paying any of your expenses?

Dude I would be so furious.....but like CivicSiRacer and others said house is nice investment if you're bringing home that much money a month for your age. If your dad is paying any of your expenses then he can somewhat tell you what to do, even if it may not sound right to you. Overall, I say do what you can to keep the car and listen to what we've told you.
