I apologize for the "what a bunch of BS" part. That was out of line...the rest of my post I stand behind. That's my view.

 

you have to prove it to yourself...

before even the earth was created, 1/3 of the [people] rejected this plan and those were sent with lucifer... the other 2/3 are those born here on earth... and please, dont take what i say as mormon doctrine, if you're serious about finding answers, as i currently am, then take it upon yourself to inquire amongst the right people, those serving full time missions... if you dont, you really shouldnt be talking...

A friend of a friend went on a mormon mission for two years. Not allowed to contact his family for months on end, and when he could, he got to send one email and make one phone call. This continued for two years. Don't try and tell me that doesn't sound like a cult to you.

 

if he didnt contact his family, it was his own choice... they are very much allowed to contact their families...

I firmly believe that mormonism uses control to influence its members, I have many personal experiences with this, mostly with close friends. Not to mention they believe in some funky ass shit...like having multiple Gods, claiming God's limited capacity, denying the virgin birth, denial of the bibles accuracy and verifiability, Joseph Smith's arrogance, Joseph's ability to ressurect, the claim that the sun and moon are inhabited by man, the fact that they require total perfection, claiming God had many wives, claiming God was once a man like us, and to sum it up... "As Man is, God once was, and as God is, man may become."


Umm yeah, no. That's ****ed up if you ask me.

HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY START THIS THREAD ENCOURAGING PEOPLE TO RESPOND TO YOUR BELIEFS AND THEN TELL THEM THEY SHOULDN'T BE TALKING? You have a lot of growing up/learing to do.

If we are not to take what you say as mormon doctrine and we are to respond to actual mormon doctorine, maybe you should be the one not talking.

whatever man, I've done my research, I have credible sources, and I'd rather believe them than some punk telling me that I shouldn't be talking unless I've been on a full time mission

 

I dont belive in Christianity because I dont give credit to god or Jesus for my accomplishments. Since I was young, if my family, or I, wanted something, we had to struggle for it. Yes, we were poor. As cocky as it may sound, (in reference to "god helps those who helps themselves") I already helped myself whenever I needed it. I didnt need god's help, and he didnt give me help.

Fast forward to today, I still feel the same way. Although I am far from poor, and I am fortunate for what I have, I still dont give any credit to any superhuman being. I still think Christianity is just false hope.
