whats the scariest feeling?
My scariest feeling was when I had just turned 14 and my mother did die from cancer. We knew it was happening. Chemo and radiation took all the life out of her and she lay in bed dying more and more every day. I was scared because I was only 14 and she was my shelter, ya know? But in a broader sense, it was good for both of us. She was dying and it was good to see her go. She passed peacefully in her sleep with her hands over her chest like she was praying. And it was good for me, because without that loss in my life, I wouldnt have grown up to look out for myself and become a man who takes care of themself. I got ink done when I turned 18 to remember it:

When you turn on the news that some lunatic is holding a building full of people hostage with full armor and artillery...... and you know someone who works there. About a month ago this happened at Case Western Reserve University in downtown Cleveland. I know someone who works in CWRU's human relations department. Thank God she wasn't in there at the time. But she was supposed to be. The stand off started at 3:00, and she was scheduled to have a meeting in that building at 3:30. The professor called to cancel it at 2:00, and neither one was involved thank God. She said when she got home she had 21 messages on her machine from friends and family. For those few hours no one knew anything.

i was riding my F4 in the mountains, with my buddy following me. we accidentally chose the most fucked up road possible - there were no rails, the lanes were narrow, loose gravel everywhere, and shade from the trees that made the road hard to see.
anyway, i went in too hot on a sweeping right curve, and started going wide. i KNEW i was going to crash, but i panicked and froze (rookie rider error). next thing u know, im heading straight for the cliff!! i was thinking, "FUCK, this is it, it's over!" then i pushed HARD on the handlebar to the right, to try to lean over further. the bike leaned over to the right, out of the way of the cliff, and then i lowsided, slid, and ran into the mountainside. it fuckin hurt, but i was alive and didnt fall over the damn cliff.
if i didnt try to lean to the right, i would have fallen a couple hundred feet to my death. it happpened so fast, but i'll never forget the fright.

first few days of the war in Iraq..... hearing SCUD missile exploding near you and then hearing an NBC alarm, not knowing if the damned thing was actually loaded with gas or not..... or rolling in a convoy to An Nasariyah, Iraq, blowing a tire at dusk and spending 2 hours lying on the side of the road not knowing if anyone is coming cuz you can't see for crap.... defenitely the worst time of my life was over there don't ever wish it on anyone
