Fish vs. Distilled water?
What type of filter are you using?
What is the most fish that you have had in the tank at one time?
Please use a good water conditioner like Aqua Plus or Aqua Nova. Distilled water can still be harsh for fish. Sure it works great till all your fish start dying mysteriously.
Perform about a 40% water change is the most I would recommend... then continue with 25% once a week using syphon vac to clean out the gravel.
Its been my experience that either to many fish were put in at one time in a small tank or lack of regular water changes can mess up the ammonia levels in a tank.
For the Ick problem i would use some Rid Ick. Wash off the filter cartrige in the filter with running water. Then one it clears up use a bit of 'aquairum salt' to prevent further problems with fungi.
Also never mix water when your putting in new fish into an established tank, thats just asking for your fish to get Ick or other fungi problems.
Hope that helps.
