Back from my trip....alive....MOSTLY...PICs inside
Sorry to hear about your wreck. I couldn't help but laugh Jimmy when you said you crashed on your snowboard. I only laugh because many memories came flashing back for me when either myself or my friends ate it on the mountain. Hope you get better soon. :thumbup:
That's what keeps me from jumping on a snowboard.. I wanna learn so bad.. but I really want to avoid serious damage...
(And yet I'll jump on a tube strung to the back of a quad driven by my lunatic friend, around trees, in the middle of an ice storm
)

Thanks people
Yeah, it was pretty trippy. I wish I can say I was doing some cool trick and wiped out. I was only taking a turn while going pretty fast and ate it. Man, I suck. And you are correct Tony. I wasn't going down the bunny slope. I graduated from the bunny slope a while back....and there's too many people on the bunny slope anyway.

Wow. Glad you're ok mang. But if you're snowboarding at Lake Tahoe you must be an ok boarder. You know what you're getting yourself into and the possibilities and/or risks involved.
I'm heading up to Killington from Jan 1 to the 7...here on the East Coast damn I wish I could ski in the west :rant:
I have in the past 4 years gotten into more of a learning free-style/freeride curve. Getting more and more risky and chancy each year and I have been wearing a helmet when I ski for about 3 years.
It has saved my on 2 occasions that are worth mentioning...
once hit a jump in mid-air...what do I see like a 4 inch branch from a tree wacked me right on the forehead of my helmet...haha
then hit a lip last year at Killington yeah got like 10 feet and landed almost upside down just a cut lip on that one
I would suggest a helmet for anybody skiing/boarding on anything more than hill

yeah....I have insurance
Anyway, what I am trying to say is that ALWAYS wear a helmet. I wasn't doing any tricks or anything fancy. I was just going down the hill, took a turn, and hit a bump I didn't see. I am not an awesome snowboarder, but I am pretty decent
still....that helmet sure helped.
Here is the wierd part, I bought the helmet....THAT morning. My trip was pretty weird. I broke my toe strap on my right binding after the 3rd run......I figured I can get to the bottom of the hill with just the ankle strap so I can get a replacement. Well, that strap broke after the second segment of the run.....so I walked my ass ALL the way down hill. I got the replacement straps....installed it....came back up hill and had 2 more runs. The next day.....Saturday.....I thought...hey, I should get a helmet just to be safe. Best $50 I ever spent.
