h:]anyways, there's nothing wrong with that:dunno: as i said before, the drivetrains last a long time and can take a daily beating.

imo, the engine in there is a truck motor, just because of the torque curve. JA sportscars dont have powerbands like the 240 does. What makes it truckish is the oversqare engine [or is it undersquare?].. long stroke, small bore. The block was designed in the mid80s for the bottom-level pickup of the time[cant remember the name

Put it this way
SR=B18C5 Its "cool" and JDM and it makes good power, but..
KA=Integra LS Motor, or perhaps a B20. Its not as cool or "JDM" but your gonna get better results out of it
i test drove a 240SX SE in '95. even then it wasnt impressive. the motor was noisy and coarse, wasnt that fast, and the handling wasnt great either. i never regretted going with a GS-R instead.

Yeah 240s in stock form are really not that impressive. It's an okay car to putz around in but a GSR or Prelude would be more satisfying in that pursuit. When you tune the shit out of it with like big brakes, SR swap + big turbo, expensive suspension goodies, etc, the level of performance you can achieve is higher than your typical run-of-the-mill Honda but otherwise the cars are kinda meh.
