BTW RB when were we directly threatened by Iraq?

We asked if we could enter their borders and were told no...that is when all this jumped off and took a side track...we still haven't found any weapons of mass destruction to prove that we were justified in our attack.

when they again refused the mandatory UN inspections. What is a logical reason for refusing them, if they don't have anything? :dunno:

Jung-Il was the one to basically come out and flaunt that he's got nuclear capabilities, and basically said he'll use them. This all happened when we already invaded Iraq.

I love how everyone was all concerned that Iraq refused the UN inspections, but then it's okay for US to go against the UN by invading Iraq. :wtf:

We only mandated inspections after they said we couldn't get go into their country as a military presence. At that point the chances of being able to take a good diplomatic route was shot because the US started immediatley accusing them instead of being smart and trying to talk to them and offering them something in exchange.

Diplomacy is dead with this president.

Okay, let's play pretend. You and your best friend are sitting at a 2 person table at McDonalds.

A man comes in with a gun, and says "You two are both evil and I hate you."

The man shoots your friend in the face.

You will:

A) Assume the man IS NOT going to shoot you in the face next.

B) Assume the man IS going to shoot you in the face next.

horrible analogy, but I see what you are getting at. The problem with that is that North Korea and Iraq showed no prior involvement, and in your analogy its obvious that the two are together.

again I still understand, that because the US grouped them together that we associated the evils of Saddam and pushed them onto N. Korea. And as pathetic as this sounds, the only thing the two have in common is their "evilness" :chuckles:

Hmmm......

Big government doesn't care about human rights violations, dictatorship, any of that bullshit. They'll prattle on about democracy but the bottom line is this:

As long as the country opens its borders to free trade, there's no problem. We'll turn a blind eye. But if they don't allow US-based multinationals in, all of a sudden they're the bad guy.

in response to your first paragraph
1, the enemy of my enemy is my friend. Saddam was the lesser of two evils at the time, and he was a sissy, we could easily control him

UN isn't the big mommy to the world you think it is.

The UN also didn't do shit about the Molosovic's ethnic cleansing... they just overlooked it, it was NATO, lead by the US that went in and took care of that. thats just an example. the UN is designed to prevent conflict, and they're a bunch of sissy's.
