Your input on sin..

We have humans to thank for coming up with that wonderful stuff because we as a race are monumentally stupid.

And yes, humanity created religion, God did not. God gave us the Law and (for us Christian folk) salvation through Christ. Humans made up pretty much all the other stuff (Catholics in particular have requirements to complete all the sacraments the Church recognizes in order to be confirmed - all of which seem to me to be rather unnecessary, at least according to Scripture).
so if a sin is a sin... do we all go to hell for eating fish on friday or whatever?
Will I end up in hell with the murderers, and rapists, and all those other real sinners all because I ate some fuggin sushi?

a funny thing, speaking of christian doctrine.. the basic incarnation of the bible we have today was put together by constantine I in the 300's and texts were omitted to put emphasis on jesus's apparent "divinity" and to remove aspects of his more human traits and was later re-revised in the 1600's by king james to the version that protestants use today.
so, if the bible can change with the times to suit whoever is in power, why can't the definition of sin?
either way i'm agnostic.. i just like to argue

Color me confused... where did you get the idea that eating fish on Fridays is a sin?
Catholics (and possibly other denominations, although I can't say for sure, as I was raised Catholic) are supposed to eat only fish on Fridays during Lent (the 40 days before Easter). No red meat is allowed.
The funny thing about this "rule" is many Catholics think it's in the Bible somewhere, that they're only supposed to eat fish on Fridays, like God commissioned it.
Turns out it was established long ago by the fishing industry -- they weren't making enough money, so they turned to the Church for help.. and thus, fish on Fridays was born.

anyhoo, i believe that a sin is anything wrong-doing, that goes against harmony within human society, or will lead to chaos or distruction of society.

personally, I don't buy into any religion. All a bunch of hogwash, in my opinion.
I'm not sure what it's called, but I buy into scientific facts, and very accepted theories, ie, evolution. I'm fairly certain Darwinism has not been proven beyond the shadow of a doubt, but it's damn close, and that's good enough for me.
I've believed for years and years that this planet was... seeded... if you could call it that. If anyone ever saw Mission to Mars, you know what I'm talking about (Not to say we were seeded by Mars). But that brings up the question of how did the ones who seeded the planet come to be, and blah blah.
