My experience with computers is that there's seldom any seemingly logical reason for stuff like that. You say you see the windows boot up screen but it never gets in? I had a similar problem after flashing to a new BIOS using the onboard utility, only to flash from Windows and have it work

My Abit boards allows me to flash before booting up. Try getting the latest BIOS on floppy, along with all the utilities, and flashing from there.

Try booting from CD, and removing the Monitor from your C drive that way.

If you have a boot disk, that means you can get into DOS prompt, right? Try removing the Monitor from there.

What, so that when it breaks there's no recourse but buying a new one? :fawk:

How do you fix a Mac yourself without spending $1000? My friend is trying to fix his Mac laptop and that's how much the motherboard costs.

Yeah I did that. I booted from the CD and tried the emergency repair, but I didn't have the emergency repair disc that it needed... I think I might be able to get this disc from a tech at Best Buy. I work there so getting it should be no problem.

DakarM thanks for all your help so far. Where is it that you learn this stuff? Mostly books? Self taught? Just experience? Thanks again man. Thanks for everyone else's imput as well. I'll keep you guys posted.
