I hope it's reliable. I only have 9500 miles on it, but only had one warranty repair (bad front strut) which the dealer gave me a loaner for. It does seem Ford has a renewed commitment to owner satisfaction.

I rented a Focus sedan last year. I was extremely pleased with it for the most part. My only complaint is that is seemed pretty unrefined in some areas (Coming from a Fit owner, lol)

The leatherish steering wheel had quite a few sharp edges on the stitching. I had an AT, and when stopped at a light for a while it began to have subtle but annoying shakes. The car had like 7k miles on it. A friend has a new focus sedan and said he has the same problem. :hs:

Other than that, fantastic car. If I were looking to buy a new hatch right now I'd probably buy another fit, but the focus wouldn't be too far behind.

I haven't experienced anything too bad with the DCT. It has its moments, but they seem to be less frequent with the most recent software updates. It's unfortunate so many others are experiencing issues with it. I don't drive it as a typical automatic, but rather give it a second or two between letting off the brake and applying throttle, so maybe I've adapted to mitigate its annoying behavior at takeoff.

My interior is well put together. The steering wheel stitching is on par with my Accord's.

I hope they continue to improve their quality control -- Ford is really excellent with tuning a chassis. Currently, there are still compromises.
