Okay I just counted over 100 service bulletins on the RSX, that's alot more than two that you stated above. Just because the RSX has a rewriteable ECU doesn't make it better than a B series eng. Or that it has I-VTEC either. The B series engine has made over 1000 hp in race applications, I haven't seen a K20 do it yet. You can't make a K20 OBD1. Out of the 100 or so service bulletins, here are my favorite...

Front engine cover leaks oil S/b#011103( Wow my K20 eng. leaks out all my oil, nice!)

Car rolls backward when parked on hills(a/t) S/B #010905 (another nice feature, hey i know i parked at the top of this hill!)

Leaking moonroof glass weatherstrip S/b#021005 (I love getting a shower from my car's moonroof, that's awesome!)

Poor A/C cooling on hard acceleration S/B#021007 (all those aftermarket performance parts just won you an uncomfortable ride! sweet!

Ign. key gets warm S/b#030609( hey my ign key just burnt the shit outta my finger! ouch!)

these are some favorites of mine and there are lots more but I can't spent all night listing them here. Oh yeah if you hate brake noise DON'T BUY AN RSX! they make brake noise and there is no fix . trust me Honda says that's how they are.....funny my old integra didn't do that, must have been the b series engine...

lol that's pretty funny, ign key gets warm?

the only thing i had on my car is the occasional 2nd gear grind, nothing from your list ... but that's good info

B series should have a higher max tune hp cus it's been out for very long, japanese company already made above 500hp on their type R version, so it's just a matter of time. rewritable ecu is a easier approach than previous model if u are doing auto racing where it need to get constantly tuned for the particular track use. if u follow that honda mag then you should have read about the comparison between k and b. the K ecu does have larger area and better potential than the previous version. also the k engine have better design all around.

I agreed with the ecu part of the agrument, it's better hands down. To say that the engine is better, I have doubts... It remains to be seen. I think OBD2 sucks ass though. The things that bother me are weight reduction plastic intake manifold, hondabond rtv oil pan gasket, serpentine belt, timing chain. All these things to me are cheap. I don't like them, what's going to happpen in 5-10 yrs when the intake manifolds start cracking/leaking? Ford mustangs are notorius for this. What about the use of rtv instead of a true oil pan gasket? I hate oil leaks. these things bother me that's all. I could go on but frankly I'm tired of the thread....

Nien you can say whatevr you the man, i don't care. I'll be happy with my 00 si w/a b16.

after reading all this.....i'm STILL getting an RSX-S, the 2004 version this upcoming summer.....I was pondering about getting the ITR, the version right before the RSX came out...but I know that this is the car for me....and hopefully by then, there will be way more support(engine mostly) by the time i step foot into the acura dealership....but either or, i'm still getting one.....

just one quick question....after how many miles should you let the engine break-in for? to start adding aftermarket mods.....thanks...i plan on buying my RSX brand new, that's why i ask.....thanks again.....

i have a lot respect to ppl who know about the car and its parts, cus i dont really know, part of laziness and i also not really want to know anyway.

i thought timing chian is suppose to be better than the timing belt the B series has. and i also think the intake manifold on K20 series is not plastic... they look very metallic to me. generally i trust Honda Japan's factory and assembly line, that is where the rsx is build, i think 5-10 yrs down the road, if a person treat the car well, there should be no or nearly no problem, but we will have to see.

I was recently on the Acura web-page, building up how I'm going to get my RSX-S, and i came across something that i'm hoping someone, or anyone, can help.....when i was picking my color of choice for the car(red), it only gives me the option of getting the titanium interior....what i would like to know, would it be possible to get the interior Black, instead of the titanium color?!?!?!?!?
i'm guessing if so, i would most likely have to pay extra, which sux's, but black interior with a red exterior would look so much better....anyone know if this is possible?!?!?!?!? thanks.....

uhh looks like we are not really talking about the same thing. when i meant K series, i only meant the K20 series in DC5 cars, cus we are talking about RSX-S right?

the other K engine found in CRV (K24), is very different from the K20 engines, they may all have a K in the beginning, but they don't really share much similarities, or the technology.

the Civic coupe, seden never was a K engine, they have always been D series engine, D16 series before 2001, D17 after 2001.

u mentioned u work at honda, so now I wonder if u get to work on the RSX's K20 engines? because RSX will go to Acura if they have a problem. So i guess u meant that you work on the Civic Si engine, K20A3, which is a extreme downgrade. RSX-S 's K20A2 on the other side is not too much different from the type R's K20A, so i don't think it's fair to compare things from what u may have seen on the K20A3.
