I am also in need of a/s tires. Best bang for your buck would be the falken ziex 512. Heard very good reviews on it and its priced well.

I stopped by sears and they had sumitomo htr h4 and bf goodrich traction t/a on sale for cheaper than the 512's. Both had good reviews too. Check your local sears, they might have a tire sale.

I'm leaning towards the traction t/a's since they are the best out of the 3. All 3 tires a performance tires so they grip decent on the road. But they might not be as good as the tires you have on now.

For the price... I really like Kuhmo tires. They're not really the best performance tires, but they have decent traction and they last a long time. The Kuhmo Ecsta 712's are what I had on my last rsx... They seemed to work well. :

I agree with the kumhos, take a look at the spt model. I love mine, they are quiet, handle well, pretty smooth ride, and at a decent price. Z-rated performance too.

Get a combination of summer and winter tires.

Summer: Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 225/45/ZR17 are what I have, on their 4th and last summer. Mine are mounted on 7.5"X17" rims. Outstanding wet and dry traction, but they are getting rather noisy this summer.

Winter: Dunlop WinterSports M3 205/55/VR16 (stock size mounted on stock rims for winter) Will be going on the fourth winter this upcoming winter season.

If you want an Ultra High Performance All Season go with the Continental ContiExtremeContact in whatever size suits you, if it were me I would be using a 225/45/VR17 here in Michigan.

What is your budget? Thats the most important part.

Also, sorry for hijacking the thread but does directional tread wear out faster that non-directional tires? or is it the same with good mantainence?

It depends on the compounds used in making the tires. You do need to rotate them and you should change them side to side, but this requires taking them off the rims and remounting and balancing them. Good idea after two seasons, or about half their treadlife.
