Get a combination of summer and winter tires.
Summer: Goodyear Eagle F1 GS-D3 225/45/ZR17 are what I have, on their 4th and last summer. Mine are mounted on 7.5"X17" rims. Outstanding wet and dry traction, but they are getting rather noisy this summer.
Winter: Dunlop WinterSports M3 205/55/VR16 (stock size mounted on stock rims for winter) Will be going on the fourth winter this upcoming winter season.
If you want an Ultra High Performance All Season go with the Continental ContiExtremeContact in whatever size suits you, if it were me I would be using a 225/45/VR17 here in Michigan.
