Default Prelude '00 - best setup

HI,
I've just purchased Prelude '00, 2.2 VTEC automatic, and I'm looking for the ideas what I can do to improve engine performance.
I know that this issue must have been discussed millions times but what current aftermarket products for my lude You could recommend as worth spending money on.

Thanks in advance.

Don't mean to throw a wrench in your spokes, but any bolt-ons you might add to knock a second off your acceleration times would already be there had you purchased the 5 spd.

Sell it a get a 5spd.

It's such a regret that I got an auto now.

And all Preludes 97-01 are VTEC, doesn't need to be specified. Just to save you some confusion and hassle later on.

I'd start with the typical bolt ons.... AEM CAI for starters. It's quick and easy.

Make sure the maint is all upto date. Oil, tranny, coolant. I've not found any, but I hear running a quick shot of Sea Foam through the engine will greatly help make sure it's nice and clean.

If the miles are up around 90k, get the timing belt, assesory belts and water pump replaced. Make sure the tires are in good condition also the brake pads.

Check the level of the Power Steering fluid and Brake fluid... basically do the mundane money guzzling REQUIRED maintance first, like new NGK Sparkplugs.... then do bolts on upgrades.

It's stupid and useless not to do any of that before getting into bolt ons. Make sure the car is in tip top shape and get any and all maint that even might need to be done first.

Then AEM CAI, DC Sports CC Header, HiFlo Cat, Apexi WS catback. Then look at AEM cam gears.

Make sure it's a car you wanna drive and look at. Get a good detail job on it. $150 or less for a decent detail job.

But definalty to maint and get all... I mean ALL maint upto schedule first before addons.

I think the only way to make it "fast" is to get a turbo or JRSC!? All the bolt-ons won´t make your car much faster. Waste of money if you ask me...

hmm, making any real power with the sport shift means you'll be replacing your auto trans pretty quick. They are by most accounts, piles of shit that don't last with any real power increases.

Honestly, i'd save your money and swap in a 5spd (maybe a JDM one with a LSD) because no matter how many horsepower you're making, it's still gonna be slow and making much less HP to the wheels thanks to the torque converter.

There's a flame war on honda-tech.com as to how much this really costs. Some say 3-4 grand others say 1500 but no matter what it's a very complicated, and major operation. Hopefully you know someone who has experience with honda trannies and can help you with the labor.
