Default misfire on all four cylinder

I have a 99 prelude which gives a check engine light with misfire on all four cylinders, recently the only change has been nology wires and a install of type s cams. the syptoms are a real noticable misfire around 3000rpm that fills like the car is surging. Also the engine is sluggish through the complete rpm range. the cams have been in the car four about 4 weeks. until recently they were the boom. these items have been checked compression is great above 145 on all four cylinders, plugs are good, new rotor button, cap is in good shape, I don't have a light to check the timing. so i can't confirm if the electronic control module is good or not. Please help. excuse the spelling

Missfire on al four cylinders? I'm guessing you checked with a obdII scanner? if so... it just said misfires?

Have you tried somesort of injector cleaners?
How's your o2 sensor? Any exhaust leaks?

I got the codes down loaded by local parts store actually from a several different one after trying several repairs. I found that the o2 sensors was loss a few repairs ago. It was tighten up and the computer reset although the code returned.

If ALL the cylinders are seeing a misfire... DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR.

This can destroy your engine!

There are three possibilies for this problem, generally:

1) Fuel Delivery (to the fuel rail)

2) Ignition System

3) EGR system

The VERY first thing to check is the ignition system

- coil
- cap
- rotor
- wires
- distributor

Then, you need to check the EGR valve and make sure it moves freely. (There is a little needle like thing in it and the valve frequently gets clogged with tons of crap. If the valve is not working like it should, it generally causes misfires on all cylinders, but can rarely cause them on only one.)

Lastly, you need to check your fuel pressure. Poor fuel pressure does not cause it's own code to be thrown, but it will cause a lean condition. (Which is REALLY bad for you engine.)

The Honda codes are generally:

- Random misfire detected
- misfire cyl 1, 2, 3, or 4

The Check Engine light will also FLASH if it's really bad... and that means? DON'T DRIVE THE CAR!!!

It's unlikely to be ALL of the spark plugs... if it's ALL cylinders... then cap/rotor first.

I'd probably just clean the contacts with a wire bush on a dremel tool.

I'm guessing your o2's are okay, and you said you've checked the cap, rotor, new wires and plugs.

The only think i can think of is your injectors might be clogged, your fuel pump isn't getting enough fuel to your car, or the Egr valve needs to be checked.

I had the same problem as you for about 2 months or so before I decided to fix the problem. Your main problem is that you probably need to do a valve adjustment. Do these other things as well

-Change fuel filter
-Clean IAC valve
-Clean EGR valve
-Clean injectors
-Do a valve adjustment
-Get new plugs
-Get new plug wires
