to be honest not really cuase, u are allowing more air flow into the motor which is great, but the key point are the cams which allow for a larger window time of opening, which would really utilize uping the airflow, and hook it up with a VAFC and man u will be smoken, also if u do, do the skunk2 get a hondata gasket, u have to change the studs cause the stock ones arene't long enough... but then u will notice night and day difference...

Current setup 01 GSR comptech ice box, comptech headers. skunk2 intake, skunk2 stage 1 cams, hondata gasket, Skunk2 valve train, AEM 5 bolt cam gears, Apexi VAFC 2, Apexi N1

it's pretty easy to install new cams. All you pretty much do is take off the valve cover, crank your crank to TDC, place a punch to hold the camshafts in place into the holes (you'll see them), to prevent yourself from messing up the timing and having to set everything up again at TDC mark your belt where the last tooth of the exhuast cam meets the belt and where the first tooth of the intake cam meets the belt, remove cams, make sure to not loose the little pin (if you do it's a pain in the ass to find), replaced cams with the pin and torque bolts to about 27 ft lbs.
The hondata gasket is made to keep from hot air traveling back into your Intake manifold from the head. So that all the air coming in is cold, hence the term cold-air intake.

Actually, the Hondata IM Gasket just "shields" the intake manifold from the hot head. It doesn't keep air from doing anything. But yeah, I would put that on if you are gonna replace the IM.

well not so much the cam gears but the VAFC is important, cause once u have bigger cams, (give u an idea skunk2 stage 1 cams are bigger then ITR cams) they like to crack at a higher rpm, the cam gears are nice to fine tune them. when i put my stuff in, and i had not purchased the VAFC yet, my car had no power between 45k when vtec hits till about 6k then again i would have power till 8k redline.

o ite so cam gears arent a necessity...cuz it seems like it wud be more involved to install them(fool with the timing belt)....how r obx cams in comparison to skunk2...for skunk2 and obx the specs r the same and the price diff is like 400 bucks...i kno skunk2 is alot better then obx
IN: 0.475, 255
EX: 0.436, 255

wat causes them to crack at hi rpm...is there a way to prevent or it will happen with all higher end cams

to be honest i know a guy who races for endless, and he has ran everytiem of cam in his civic with a b18c5 in it, and he says that out of all them he loves the SKunk ones cause they have worked wonders, not sure about how they crack and stuff like that... but i wouldn't go cheap on cams IMO
