installatiion is like a timing belt replacement.. u gain becasue u can fine tune them, if u don't have them it won't kill u, u probally will gain some horse by having them the cam gears that is. Like i said earlier a guy who races professionaly his civic, won't run anything in there but skunk2 cause he says they are just awsome compared to toda, juin, crowe cams he has tried it all but its up to u, i wouldn't go cheap on an internal part, cause it may cause mroe headache later, and plus i bet the OBX will not alst nearly as long as a SKunk2 or one of the nice brands out

ya now that u said it that way i prolly will go with skunk2 cams....however i just paid 700 bucks to change by timing belt like 4 months ago....if i bring it to a mechanic to get done how much would they charge me??? Is it worth gettin 700 dollar cams if i dont end up gettin adj cam gears??? could u venture a guess how many hp i wud be gaing with the cams and wat i got now and with the cams with adj cam gears???

ill have v2 intake, rage header(2.5" collector), 2.5" exhaust, magnaflow muffler, aem pullies, nology hotwires, skunk2 intake manifold, vafcII

hell yes it is worth it to get cams even if u can't get cam gears, i would say at least 18 to 20 if not more. with adj cam gears not sure but u will pick up a few i know that much. i think if u do it with the cams u have to take off the timming belt so i don't think it would be that much more expenisve to slap in some cam gears to be honst

The hondata gasket is made to keep from hot air traveling back into your Intake manifold from the head. So that all the air coming in is cold, hence the term cold-air intake.
I thought that I could install new cams myself according to what jack said....he doesnt say anything bout removing the timing belt....cuz if i have to remove the timing belt to put the cams on then i mite as well bring it to somebody and have em thro adj cam gears on too

cams are not as easy to install as jack stated, cause i mean u have to take the timming belt off, becasue how u going to get the cams out they are hooked to them with the sprokets and willnot release the cams cause the belt is under tension from my understanding, and what i have seen if you are not that mechanically incline do not attempt to put in cams they are not a bolt on affair

oh yank one more thing they may tell u, need a fuel rail, or fuel pressure regulator, just to let u know u won't need it at all, u will have to get longer studs if u use the skunk intake, with a hondata gasket just to let u know, other then taht u should be good, and just drive the care around and see were the vtec feels good to kick in i have my set at about 6k to hit... i don't think i missing anything else, but yeah if u need anything hit me up with a pm or osmething and good luck and be safe and enjoy
