If you want something orginal, don't buy a honda/acura! lol, they are some of the most common cars out there.

This is a hard topic for me... I am actually infactuated with Preludes, I was going to buy a h22 swapped 96 SI but some focker put a down payment on it without seeing it and bought it before I could go to test drive and what not... and I ended up getting this 97 Integra LS instead... which is still a sweet ride. This is how my family lot was looking at one point, and I drove them all: 1997 Acura Integra(mine), 2001 Honda Prelude(parents), 1997 Civic EX(family car) hehe... so we are honda people. And yes, both are very good cars, I loved driving the prelude, the vtec was incredible, good pickup but it doesnt handle as well as my integra does ;/ Considering the time bind I was in for purcashing a car, im happy with what I got, but will be happier when I get either my gsr head or h22 engine ;p

So man, it really comes down to your personal preference, don't listen so much to other people as to how you feel about the cars. Drive them both and pick whatever you like best, based on appearance, performance, ride comfort, etc.

Sorry but I don't lump NSX, RL, TL, TSX and RSX in the Honda category. I meant only Hondas (civic, accord, prelude, insight, del sol, etc....well, I respect S2000 so minus that one). I don't understand why you guys won't accept them as econocars....I drive one and I admit it.
Reason I don't drive my M to work is because I work graveyard and I ain't leaving it overnight unattended. happy now?

Well, in 99% of the world is not such thing as "Acura" .. for me they still hondas .. RL is a Legend .. and the TSX is no more than a Accord, the RSX still and a Integra that by the way Preludes were better than integras at their time so if you consider a RSX superior is fine .. that includes Preludes then, LOL so if you think that "Acuras" are not Hondas is because they made you think that way ... i think is funny! some day i'll get a NSX .. an i'm totally rebadging Honda with no shame LOL, but is fine man .. i respect other opinions and you're very honest in your ideas, that's good in my books! LOL in the end we al love cars!

Fine, then you can stick to your 20k Honda while I stick to the 30k Acura then being they're the same.

well consider this

only in America and maybe Japan ( I forget) Acura's exist. In Europe, the Integra is known as the Honda Integra, as well as the Honda RSX, manufactured very similiarly. The reason Acura isnt as built up as BMW , Mercedes-Benz or other luxury companies is because it isnt, its a honda w/ more class! Just like Lexus, Pop the hood, it says Toyota Motor Corporation, hell even the side windows have Toyota marked on them.

Now thats not to say I wouldnt take an Integra over a Civic, but really, buying an Acura and putting down Honda would be either an oxi-moron or a hypocrite, you be the judge.

By the way beamer-boy, a honda prelude isnt exactly an econo-box, I mean, the gas mileage is good, but, look at the insurance quotes! and premium fuel required? not an econobox

Thanks for the help guys I must say you certainly know how to change the subject hahah

Good man hahaha. So what are you leaning towards?

I know infiniti + 1 = infiniti, but I as well would like to put in a good word for the prelude.

well my friends
because i'm less into the tuning and more into the overall feel and style of the car, I don't mind a coupe witha little weight, and its not like it doesn't have the power to move it. Also, Car and Driver inthe past named the prelude one of the best handling cars under 30k. Consumer Reports show both cars are extremely reliable, which was one of the main reasons I decided to look at them(if i was gonna look into a sporty car, It wasnt gonna be a p.o.s.

I got the insurance quotes today. If I were to take 100k per person and 300k per accident, along with a 1000 deductible in the event of a theft or accident, I can work the quotes down to roughly:

3000 for the 94-95 teg LS (not the gsr or the type r, if you read my original post thats what the plan was)

and ....

3442 for the 97prelude, base, (sh =more expensive repairs, ill take what my dealer friend finds, stick of course)

Soo, my mother thinks I'm a kid who examines things logically enough to decide on a good car, trusts my decision, as long as the insurnace is decent(for mass those quotes r good)

My father is cheap and wishes he never mentioned "why dont you look at other honda besides the civic" so now the task is to convince him for a more sporty car

so it will take some time, but i will shoot for the LUde, if not plan is B is the Teg.

unless someone comes along w/ something I dont know that seriously alters my opinion lude 1, teg 2nd.

Thanks for everything

feel free to keep this up the rivalry is fun to read.
