Default h23a dohc vtec motor swap

Hello everyone. I just bought a 1993 Honda Prelude SI 4ws with 61k miles on its h23a and really love it. It has a brand new paint job,no dents, no scratches, perfect everything + a kick ass sound system. I really do love this car, but I would like to swap out the engine for a h22a or this h23a dohc vtec motor http://www.naganojapanese.com/h23a.php. I need to know if anyone has done this swap and if its a better engine than the h22a. It really does look like it would be better and the hp number of 225 is not too bad.
Money is not a problem for me as I make around 900 a week and I also just received a check from my grandmothers death for 20k. I would like to keep the swap to around 3-4k though as I dont like blowing money. Also does anyone know of aftermarket parts that will fit the h23a vtec and if its even worth the trouble.

h23A is the euro R accord motor I believe...good motor. The H22A out of the type S and the h23A are similar setups I beleive aside from the obvious slight displacement difference.

I have been doing some reading and the jdm 92-95 h22a looks to be a very good motor. I could rebuild it up to have the same stats as a type S I think from what I have read. The h23a vtec sounds very cool, but I cant find any aftermarket parts for it at all.

motor still got low mileage! build it and boost it and you'll rape those H22 and H23 VTEC

H23A would have the same aftermarket parts as the H22A....all it is is a longer stroke or bore. the heads are the same I beleive, along with pretty much everything else.

I think that the h23a dohc vtec would be very cool if it worked with all the some parts as the h22a. Does Anyone know of someone on the board that has a 93ish Prelude Si with a h23a dohc vtec swap?

You won't beat this h22 vtec! Boost is gay on a lude. If you want to boost something boost a mr2 or a supra! Lude's ARE NOT made for boost for a reason! Hey guys lets see how many gears I can spin my front tires thru! It's about managable hp and the lude isn't the frame to do it on!

well nagano is wrong about the years on that motor no h22/h23 was made after 01. they are also wrong about the HP on that motor, it makes 200HP not 225HP. Yes it makes the same as the h22a, the .1 liter nets a small gain in TQ.

if u buy the blue top stock then it will be solid, but people have inherent problems with putting a h22a head on a h23a block to save money. keep that in mind.

personally i think the h22a built for NA or turbo is a better bet. the h22a is all around solid thru its high rev range, while ive heard stories about h23a vtec's having alot of reliability problems in the upper RPM band. of course a stock h23a built by honda is the best bet if u have your heart set on one.
u can build up a h22a for high compression with a high reving head for a few grand assuming you dont build it yourself. i personally have a stock block/head h22a1 and i am satisfied with its performance for the 2 years since i rebuilt and swapped it.

I want to hit around 250hp 200torque to the wheels on my Prelude, but I dont think I am going to be able to get to that range unless I swap in a h22a1 and do a lot of performance mods to it. Whats the best way to get to 250hp/200torque TO THE WHEELS with my engine being as reliable as it is right now?
