h23a dohc vtec motor swap
You may get 220-225 ish with a turbo which isn't exactly a reliable way to do it on a stock bottom end. There's no way you're going to exceed 250 on a stock h22 bottom end without your ringlands letting go eventually I'd almost guarantee that. Sleeve the h22 with forged pistons and rods and let someone do it that actually knows what the hell they're doing. See the block above. It's guaranteed to 65 lbs of boost pressure or 65 psi. You could see 500-600 hp easy with that block and a big ass turbo but may I ask why you'd want to turbo a lude?
if you go turbo dont get a kit, learn what everything does and piece a kit together yourself, the preludes are too overweight to be a really fast drag car so dont expect to be running 11's or 12's, heck even 13's are pretty expensive to achieve in a prelude.
im personally building my prelude for handlingt and auto-x courses, thats why ive decided to go with such a small turbo (for the quick spooling coming out of a corner).
Figure out what you want to do with your lude, and then people can give you better advice for a setup

well the h23a seems to be a really good engine to get. my friend droped one in his 95 lude and he whoops anyone( well almost). if you want to get the h23a you should get it through www.japandomesticmotor.com it has a 750$ differance than the nagano site. but they will most likely not have any in stock. they are really rare. i orderd one and its been 4months and they said it will arive in about two more weeks. and i wouldnt turbo anything unless you totaly rebuild the internals. new rods, pistons, balance and blueprint and shave the crank and a lot of other stuff. so judge on wich one will be better bang for buck.
Is this H23 factory with the VTEC head? In America the H23 has no VTEC but you can put an H22 head on it. This I've heard is good good horse power and torque but is really unreliable. Due to compression changing when you put the H22 head on. I also thought the Euro Rs had an H22 but possibly I am wrong or differant years had this H23 VTEC, if its a factory engine with VTEC then I wouldnt worry. But due to the aftermarket, you could probably make more power for cheaper with the H22.
