well nagano is wrong about the years on that motor no h22/h23 was made after 01. they are also wrong about the HP on that motor, it makes 200HP not 225HP. Yes it makes the same as the h22a, the .1 liter nets a small gain in TQ.
if u buy the blue top stock then it will be solid, but people have inherent problems with putting a h22a head on a h23a block to save money. keep that in mind.
personally i think the h22a built for NA or turbo is a better bet. the h22a is all around solid thru its high rev range, while ive heard stories about h23a vtec's having alot of reliability problems in the upper RPM band. of course a stock h23a built by honda is the best bet if u have your heart set on one.
u can build up a h22a for high compression with a high reving head for a few grand assuming you dont build it yourself. i personally have a stock block/head h22a1 and i am satisfied with its performance for the 2 years since i rebuilt and swapped it.
