can somebody clarify what a merge collector is and do i need one???

 

i was talkin to one of my friends and I told him that i wud be gettin a header with a 2.5" collector and 2.5" piping. He said I would lose power cuz its too big and im doin NA. He suggested gettin the header with 2.5" collector and then goin down to like 2.25 the rest of the way. Wat ya guys think????

 

"i think" he's wrong.

there's no point in getting a 2.5" collector then tapering down to 2.25. you might as well run 2.25 all the way through, which is too small for optimal exhaust flow on an h22.

there's enough backpressure in the system with 2.5" piping.

since im gonna need 2.5" piping and catback systems dont come with that does anybody kno wat the best muffler wud be for an h22...
