I just bought an 89 prelude si about a month ago. It sat for a few years. The speedometer only works about 60% of the time. Most of the time it works for a little while and then it dies while i'm driving along the road. Any suggestions as to what it might be?

 

bad connection??? i dunno smack it...thats what i have to do in my friends neon but neons are notorious for faulty speedometers/tachometers

 

yeah. sometimes that works, but most of the time the needle spikes for a split-second and then goes back to zero. My friend has a neon too and the speedometer doesn't work in that either.
