Default problem with clutch

When I press my clutch it has a lot of play, it almost goes to the floor before it starts to work. Still shifts fine, and some times it has more play than other times. I had this happen before on my Del Sol and it was the Master cylider. How would I check that, and what else could it be, any ideas, or is it just my clutch has gone out? I hate being broke and in college. Thanks for any help.

ya bleed the clutch line and slave cylinder

u might be able to get away with just adding fluid anbd working the air out with normal driving.

yeah, what ludeconduct and boom both said...More than likely all you'll need to do is drain your current clutch fluid and add fresh flujid. Make sure you pump the clutch a lot after adding the fluid, and if the fluid level goes down some, just add some more. Your clutch will be nice and tight, with less play. If that doesn't work, you might need a new clutch

You may have air in your clutch lines. Just bleed your clutch and see if that works. If that doesn't work, you probably need to change out your Master and Slave cylinders.....

well I bled it out and pumped after wards for what seemed like for ever slowly but surely the pressure regained, sweet, I don't have to pay for a new clutch. Thanks for the help
