What amuses me is that the people are somehow convinced that the wealthy do not get the greatest benefit from taxes (And somehow returning the taxes to the level of the Reagan years is a bad thing?). FDIC insurance is a great example: Show me someone making 40K per year (or less) who would impact that in case a bank failed (While I think everyone making over 150K per year would take a fair draw from it).

Food stamps and other poor assistance programs are drops in the bucket compared to what benefits to top gain.

Not to mention that that upper 5% has an army of accountants and tax advisors to find them loopholes and deductions. The vast majority of this group of people find a way to avoid paying their taxes in full anyway.

My mother and I consider it our civic duty to pay our taxes in full without any attempt to cheat. I make a lot (Though, apparently not as much as a plumber  ), so I pay substantial taxes every year, but you know, I receive benefit from it. Some years not as much as others, and rarely directly, but it's something I do.

How about posting the whole video instead of some Fox news edit

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vFC9j...m/reader/view/

Obama spent a good 5 minutes explaining his plan to the guy.

Critical Thinking. USE IT.

LOL wow when you take what he said out of context it looks bad. but i think he might make that white dude think twice about his plan. Obama explained it right down to familiar terms and applied it to everyday people. Great speaker... great comunicator.

werd. See point #1 in my post #10.

Now that the sounds on my computer works again... So this guy is looking at maybe $270k a year. If you actually listen to Obama, all that income up to $250k will be taxed at the lower rate, and only $20k will be taxed at the ~35%. So even for a rich-ass plumber, this tax plan is really only raising the rate on 8% of his income.

Wait so we're talking net income right? Not gross? Jesus if he's netting 250k, I need to go to trade school and become a plumber.

Actually, in interviews with him, he's admitted he basically lied about his income (He "projected" his income) AND through some internet sleuthing, he's not a registered plumber in his state.
