So Obama was in town last night v. manwithgunarrested
i have two firearms loaded for self defense in the house, theres my shotgun and my pistol both of which are kept in the bedroom
not exactly walking around the house 'strapped'
i can agree with that and that is fine, currently people with permits are responsible with their guns, they dont want to lose their permits, do recreactional things with it in supervised/responsible manners, i get it, that is fine. not going to argue that point as i do understand when people enjoy hobbies they would like to do it when/where ever they would like to and not purposely try to harm anyone.
if the rules on letting everyone have guns when/where they please that stat might look a little different. like everything else, not everyone thinks the same way you do and there for just because the han gun crew is responsible with their firearms doesnt mean everyone else is/will be.
sure we will probably never know if this will be true, but i sure dont feel comfortable with some of my neighbors owning guns and walking around with them all the time

noones saying there should be totally unregulated ownership of guns ... i have nothing against requiring certain criteria to be met before allowing a citizen to conceal carry. requirements such as taking a certified training course and having a background check performed. that stops noone who could legally have the permit from getting the permit
you rednecks still arguing about this :chuckles:
You know how I was totally against guns, well now I understand that if you live in a place where crime is relatively high and that most people own guns, well shit I'd own one too.
It's just that over here most people don't own firearms, so I was always puzzled as to why people felt the need to have them.

for someone who grows up with guns you dont even think of them as 'bad' until you meet someone who tells you how evil guns and gun owners are
a gun is no different than a knife, both are tools, key tools in the lives of many people ... but you put either of them into the hands of a person with bad intentions and they become dangerous. should we outlaw knives because some people are bad?
Wow, pull the admin card. You're so cool. You unnecessarily call me irrational and can't take it when I have something to say about it?
If you can't take the heat, stay out of the kitchen whether you're a chef or not.
You can't use comparisons like that because it makes you irrational.

That's the point. His decision did not affect anyone involuntarily. It affected him and only him unless there was an unwarranted fear of that inanimate object.
Don't get me wrong, I don't disagree that some people fear guns. However, I don't think people should be stopped from carrying because of other people's fears.

i agree some people do fear guns and obviously others do not, but you have to see that is the point - like you said "if someone has a gun he choose to/not to kill you" and by walking into a crowded place with others who either fear/not fear guns or not, they didn't necessarily know what he was going to do/not do. i mean sure you would like to think the best of people but sometimes you just never know.

but i dont know what that guy in the car coming at me is going to do either, i just trust he doesnt feel like ending his life that day and swerves into opposing traffic
i gotta hope he is smarter than to drink a case of beer and climb into the drivers seat
when i get into an airplane i have to hope the mechanic didnt get pissed at the world that day and fuck with the engines
Can someone move this to On-Topic? That way people can't come in and make non-discussion related posts like this:
