Most people need to learn to mind their own fucking business. Who cares what others do or believe in as long as it's not hurting anyone else?
So many people are so obsessed with "I'M RIGHT YOU'RE WRONG" that's it's becoming all anyone ever focuses on. The majority of people don't let anyone just fucking live. So many need to stop worrying about what the next guy is doing.. and focus on their own shit.

People have a choice on where they go and if it is life or death it should not make a difference. I know abortion can be life or death sometimes when there is a complication in the pregnancy and in those instances I think the abortion is allowed to save the life of the mother.
Angela...or whatever name I made up before, is knocked out and the MT decides to take you to the closest hospitol...who's choice is it? Time is ticking and there is not enough time to contact an adult or move you to another location.

IMO, a hospital should be aware of this scenario and have an option that is non-partisan...wether it's appointing a non-partisan surgeon, having a "non-blessed" wing of the hospital...something....I don't care.

And unless you are liberatarian, you know and better agree that even a privately funded hospital holds and needingly holds accords with the federal and state laws.

This scenario has already been well tried and tested, both in the ER and the courtroom. When the decision cannot be made for oneself, it goes to next of kin or guardian. Barring either, the clinician will use their judgement and possibly consult with an ethics liason. Doctors would rather not have to make these types of decisions.

Andy, in the situation above the immediate urgent care is to ensure that the woman is OK first, not provide her an abortion, and not provide her the morning after pill. Besides, even if she was raped and knocked out an abortion is not going to work because she has probably not even conceived yet, and to get the morning after pill she can get the prescription from a doctor that does not have religous objections and obtain it at the pharmacy when she is released. Just because a religous hospital does not allow the morning after pill does not mean all their doctor's cannot prescribe it. And while hospitals are state regulated religous hospitals do have certain leeways based on their religion, and as long as they do not take state funding they can enjoy these.
