please... that doesn't even compare to the silly marketing blitzes put forth by the american auto industry day in day out..

i'd take a "mr. opportunity"-commercial over a "this car is a REVOLUTION and will CHANGE YOUR LIFE, and now here's some american idol chump that we paid a buttload of cash but really has nothing to do with the car, to sing to you.. BOLD MOVES!"-commercial, any day.

yes, but we see advertisments all the time like this.

alcohol ads, cosmetics ads, billions of ads that run each day support some sort of lifestyle that the product is supposed to help you reach.

Although I find nothing 'morally' wrong with it, I do not see who they are marketing towards...

While I don't have a moral objection to it, it is a marginal ad for an uninspiring product.

Par for the course considering it's a Ford, IMO.

well ads like this used to work. and they still do, but only to a certain audience.

unless there is going to be a connection between the car and the driver these kind of commercials are pointless, but morally wrong? not even close.

I know I sound like an old conservative yelling at the changing times, but does this bother anyone? How we're getting to the point where people are praised for maintaining a good relationship after a divorce? Shouldn't we be encouraging couples to stick together for the sake of their kids instead of promoting divorce?

Are you bothered by the fact that the father is asking for the mother for the approval? I think it reflects the attitudes of many women. Sure its just an ad and we can all brush it off, but many women in this country think they can have their cake and eat it too.

LOL..women think they can have their cake and eat it too...that is by far, the single most sexist comment I have heard on han.

Exactly where are you going with this? I'd love to hear your explanation...You have your location unpublished, but I'm gonna guess your a good'ol boy from the south. I suppose we should round up and noose them negroes while we boot out all them brown folks too while we're at it.

IMO, it's a weak ad...if anything, Ford's Kermit "green friendly" Escape ad is the most powerful. It's touching, truthfull, and convincing.

BTW, I'm in the advertising world...targeting a minor audience that displays non-minority individuals is far from effective...this was client driven. I'm gonna guess that this ad went from one thing, hundreds of thousands was invested, and ended up in a direction far from the original concept. This will always self distruct. Excuse my bigoted comment, but this is a case of too many chiefs and not enough indians...

Ford announced today that they are cutting back 20% of production...this is the largest cut back since the early 80s. Desperation?

I actually thought the Kermit commercial was fantastic as well. When it was first played during the Super Bowl, I was very pleased. It actually made me -kindasorta- want to buy a Ford.

as far as "green friendly" advertising goes, Green is "in". Unfortunetly, it takes massive increases in gas prices, global warning proofs, polar ice caps melting, polar bears commiting canabolism for the first time in history because they have lost coverage in food supply, australian coral reafs bleaching away to extinction, land loss, cold melted water entering water streams that once warmed the UK and Europe...now chilling the region and entering pre-ice age extreamities...etc....green is in and easy to advertise.

But as far as focusing in on it, that should be the new advertising and that should be the auto industries goal. It's about damn time...and anything else should be irrelevant. Green is in...capitolize on it.

Once again...it's no longer Global warming...it's a global warning.

hell...even Pat Robertson joined the band wagon...
