Bottom line is , if Honda would step up and put in a blown I6 under the hood. There is no mass produced production car that could catch it , or keep it very close for very long.......
love the s2k , but she needs some bigger balls

uhh, they stuck to a 4 because that's what Honda is, it's what they stand for. Damn, honda could do a lot of things with big engines, but they don't. Unlike every large, gas-guzzling inefficient domestic POS that's out there today, Honda has always stuck the belief that they could do more with less. To add to that, their very essence of development through racing is represented in the S2000. A high-revving, super-refined engine situated in probably one of the most rigid production bodies every built. Be patient, eventually, as horsepower naturally increases, so will the literage in most of Honda's engines. I think it may be necessary for the NSX to get a small 8 soon, just to justify the pricetag, but if you ask me, I want the S2k the way it is, so I can go flying down Huron River dr. in Ann Arbor, winding through the curves, the engine performing like an orchestra, creating beautiful music as I move through the gears ... ahhh ... ok, someone pinch me.

Back in the 60's , when Honda Dominated Formula 1 with their 1500 hp , 1.5 litre single turbo v12's , they were unstoppable , now , Honda has a hard time keeping the high revving v10's in f1 together for an entire race . In over 50 years of racing Honda knows displacement has no replacement . That's why the NSX has a v6 , that is why the s2k needs a Inline6 , no problem , I'll add the turbo later on. It just needs that torque for ripping vettes and vipers , and camero's new assholes when the clutch is dropped.

funny, you're the only person I've ever talked to about displacement who argued for displacement increases, using the NSX as an example. Everyone else I know complains that for the bill, the NSX should have an 8 in it. Back in the day, F1 was limitless, Honda can easily dominate in F1 again now, abiding by the V10 rule, they just need to pull all ties from that joke of a series called IRL, and they should've known better than to stick around in CART when it was going tits up, right around the time Toyota began hijacking the series with complaints of Honda producing more power in their engines, even with the boost limits set by CART. Anyway, regardless of F1, Honda has always been a "more with less" company when it came to production automovbiles, they'll remain that way too. I still maintain that the S2000 embodies their spirit and passion for performance, mirroring their ideals in racing, one such ideal being that a little goes a long way.

oh, and by the way, it's not just about the straight line, that vette, camaro and likely viper too won't stand a chance against the S2k when the they hit the bends.

I am looking at getting one right now. But I think I will wait for the new 2004 that's coming. My cars about done with now and I have the funds to get the s2000. Does anyone know what interior colors are matched with the White Exterior? Is it still Beige or can you get red?

They also tested the leading roadsters.....BMW,Boxter,350Z,S2000

The the S2000 was better in almost everything than the Boxter and the .1 of a second off of the other competition.

And it was the only 4 banger out of all of them. That was enough for me.

The S2k will corner better than all of thoses cars, and i saw a video on this Nissan board my bro frequents (he owns a Spec-V), the competition consisted of an M3, a boxster S, the Z, a Skyline (no competition, good thing it was the camera car) and an S2K. The 2K owned them all in the corners, but obviously down the stretch the Z, Skyline and M3 had an upperhand. But as far as the M3 goes, whatever lead it accumulated was lost back in the turns again. This also reminds me of the very first comparison test Car and Driver did when the S2k debuted. They tested it against the Boxster S, the M-Roadster (Z3's bigger, beefier brother) annnd, damn, well, that's all I can remember, but I do know that the S2k beat them all, so I think you're making a good buy As for the colors, Honda's site still has the '03 loaded, so I don't know if any other color than beige is offered with white, call a dealer and check. I hope you buy it, and when you do, post a great big message detailing the emotions that you felt when, after breaking the engine in, you finally hit VTEC for the first time at full throttle
