uhh, they stuck to a 4 because that's what Honda is, it's what they stand for. Damn, honda could do a lot of things with big engines, but they don't. Unlike every large, gas-guzzling inefficient domestic POS that's out there today, Honda has always stuck the belief that they could do more with less. To add to that, their very essence of development through racing is represented in the S2000. A high-revving, super-refined engine situated in probably one of the most rigid production bodies every built. Be patient, eventually, as horsepower naturally increases, so will the literage in most of Honda's engines. I think it may be necessary for the NSX to get a small 8 soon, just to justify the pricetag, but if you ask me, I want the S2k the way it is, so I can go flying down Huron River dr. in Ann Arbor, winding through the curves, the engine performing like an orchestra, creating beautiful music as I move through the gears ... ahhh ... ok, someone pinch me.
