Yes, MazdaSpeed needs to jump on this new platform with the quickness.
I am absolutely loving that interior. :yumyum:
The exterior is very nicely done as well.
I wonder how bad the C-Pillar blind spot is though...hmm.
Overall, good job.

Okay, well I have to revise my guess that the motor looks like a Zetec. While the intake manifold does look like the one on the SVT Focus, and the coolant reservoir is in the exact same spot as the Focus, the engine spins the other way.
The Focus has its motor set up like the B/D-series Hondas, intake manifold near the firewall and exhaust manifold near the front bumper. The picture of the 3 engine is set up like a K-series with the intake manifold on the front and the exhaust by the firewall.
So that's at least encouraging, and here's some more encouragement. This is the engine bay of a 6i:
The plastic shroud is different and some ancillaries are in other spots than the 3, but the intake manifold is identical as are the intake hose and airbox.
So this stock photo...
...has an actual Mazda engine in it of some sort.

Zetec and Duratec are just names. Generally Zetec came to mean a DOHC inline-4 passenger car motor and Duratec was a DOHC V6 passenger car motor. I think they're just changing the name on the Zetec motors to Duratec for whatever reason.

It's a possibility. The Taurus SHO had a Yamaha-designed motor so it's possible the Duratec is derived from that. It's also possible that it's a 6-cylinder version of the Ford Modular V8 design but I wouldn't know honestly.
Anyway, that looks a helluva lot like a Mazda engine under the hood so here's hoping that's what we get in the USA.

duratec is too obvious to mean anything besides durable (but a name doesn't make the engine so)
again this is just all marketing pizazz that is usual at ford...spend more money marketing the products to be what they are not (explorer as a family safe vehicle ~ 300 people dead and counting) than actually engineering them to do so
