the pilot and mdx are built off the accord platform which is what the tl is also built off of so the awd capability is there but an awd system built for an suv may not be a good item to share with a sports sedan

There's an AWD Accord in Japan.

Maybe. However, on a side note I do remember reading about the 2003 MDX which Acura made several slight mechanical changes to. In the press release Acura stated they tweaked the AWD sytem for more RWD bias to improve responsiveness and handling. All of which leads me to believe that this system is capable of finding it's way into Acura sport sedans as well. I guess we'll just have to wait and see if Acura saw fit to include it on the new TL.

The Global Midsize can definitely house AWD...if they have any brains, that's what the TL will be.

It's actually a pretty good AWD system, one of the best I'd say. It's not "trucklike." It's not like you're going to have to shift it in and out of 4wd, or it's going ot have a creeper gear, or you're going to get 4wd wheel claw on wet pavement. It would be a good AWD system for a car, in my opinion.

Odyssey platform is Global Midsize stretched. Basically the same as the Accord's.

AWD or FF, I'm very happy to see a stronger design theme coming to the Acura model line.:yay:

I didn't want to be the first to say this...Yes, that exhaust is nasty looking. Looks a lot like they ripped it right of a Grand Prix. Nasty. Lets just hope it doesn't sound like a grand prix! The setup they have now is much better. If you look at the pic of the concept, the exhaust looks *way* more integrated and flowing than the pre-production pic.

I agree 500%. The way the small, round pipe so obviously goes into a large, rectangular exhaust outlet is so God damn cheesy :slap: I hate the way Pontiac does this, it looks HORRID. Like you said, the concept was much better in that regard.
