Scion Announces Prices for xA and xB
Yuk. Design to target young buyers, the buyers will probably be the ones similar to the designers, XXX XXXXX perhaps, ew, yuk. They're targeting the wrong generations. As much as I'm a toyotaholic, the scions makes me sick. Toyota is known for refinement and quality not something like this. If I wanted something this cheap I'd get a hundai or saturn. All toyota had to do was perk up the matrix and corolla. What a waste. Downgrading instead of upgrading to be better.

Does anyone know what future plans are for scion? Is this going to become(if successful) a car company with many types of cars?

*First-aid kit
now you're a precertified nurse.
*Rear window defogger
oh really, that's what those lines are for.
*Digital clock
wow, a clock, digital too.
*Center console
Ooo, another glove box.
*Tilt steering wheel
hey, it moves up and down.
*Tachometer and trip meter
so that why the engine get louder when I don't shift.
*Driver's sun visor with mirror
whoopy.
*Front sport bucket seats with fabric upholstery
what, did it use to have a chair as standard.
*Amber instrument panel illumination
green must be slower or something.
*Choice of one of three wheel cover designs
Wal-Marts got more choices.
*Rear antenna (xA: roof-mounted, xB: in-glass)
must be a reception thing.
They actually list some of these as standard. I'm surprised they didn't add that you get 3 keys, new tire on the car, and a full tank of gas.
So what's standard again sir?

In addition to the standard features shared with xA, the xB will also include remote keyless entry, rear privacy glass, Vehicle Stability Control and Traction Control plus Brake Assist.
As well as both starting under 14k.... you find a better deal.

thats a list of standard features.... you will find a list of what comes with the car, for any car.... i dont understand why you find it soo strange that they made a standard features list.

Some of the standard stuff are actually good but half of those aren't even worth mentioning. It just makes it look like, "wow look at the long list of standard features", until you read it. When I purchased my tundra I was surprised to see they list the bumper as standard. And a bunch of other stupid things that shouldn't be there.
I like to see standard what others(competitors) don't have, like trc-cont, skid-cont, limited slips, engine w/big #'s, 17X8s', auto door unlock if key is sensed inside of car when turned off. The neat stuff, know what I mean. That'll get my attentoin.
What is toyota pitting the scions against, hundai's, kia's?? This may be what toyota thinks but not me, nor my friends, nor anyone that drives a similar sized vehicle.
Maybe I just have high expactation.
HEY LOOK PEOPLE!!! It comes with standard front fabric sport bucket seats, amber instrument panel illumination, and driver sun visor WITH MIRROR. Can't wait till it comes out to tell my co-workers this. OH MY, a CENTER CONSOLE comes standard.

What I mean is look at the standard list. Toyots lists some stuff that are just ridiculus, example- a clock, center console, antenna on a different location, mirror on sunvisor, you know what I mean.

The tacoma doesnt come standard with a clock... so its listed... not all cars come with buckets...it could have been a split bench.... not all cars come with rear defroster.... not all cars have an on glass antenna, not all cars have a mirror on the sun visor..... etc.... So dont get all weird because it lists some of what you think should be *expected* because that isnt always the case...
Almost any manufacturer will list those items, it's just an industry tactic to sucker in clueless dopes. Congrats to everyone who figured that out...
And if no one's noticed, Hyundai and Kia are eating Honda/Toyota/everyone else's lunch on small, affordable cars. It's been a proven fact that most people will repeat-buy the same brand again. So you sucker them in now, and chances are 5 years later they'll buy a product from you again. Despite the low margins for econoboxes, I'm surprised that Toyota didn't do this before.
