Best selling car doesn't mean it's the best car. If that's your argument, then you're saying the Corolla is the best car for the last 30 something years? The march is getting some of its own award too. I'm not even gonna go into the exterior look because opinion is like an a$$hole... everybody has one. I think the March looks 10X better than the Fit, but that's just me. How can you comment about the interior when you haven't even sat in one?

p/s: I'm not here to be a cool guy. I'm here because I like the format and the type of discussion that's going on here. Just because I don't worship honda doesn't mean i can't be here.
Well the Brits (Car magazine) think the Jazz is the best in its class. That's alot of French and German subcompacts it competes against. Neither the Scions nor the Cube are sold there, however. They think the March is dated, btw.
Nissan never followed Honda. They were larger than Honda up to the mid 90s, when they gave up their performance image and just try to be the 2nd toyota. That didn't work very well so they went back to what they were originally know for, which is top class performance. That got them out of the whole.
nissan was never a performance only brand...that would be ferrari or porsche...nissan did have lots of performance cars but they weren't cutting edge with twist beam rear axle and a big v6...similar to what a pontiac is...not high performance but a capable stoplight warrior...and lots of suvs and trucks...several years of sentras didn't even include an se-r model...in fact infiniti didn't have any performance models or true rwd sports sedans until 21st century
honda is no performance brand either but those that think that was nissan's core purpose and continues to be need to look back and consider that statement again

True, Nissan is no comparison to car company like Ferrari. However, they were performance oriented car company. Hence the Z heritage. Also the Sylvias and SE-R. Infiniti came out in the early 90s. That's the time frame where Nissan tries to be the 2nd Toyota. Nissan, Honda, and Toyota have similar goals. Which is to sell as many cars to the general public as possible. Each pick an image and stick w/ it. Nissan started w/ an sporty image but went bland in the 90s. Now, they've returned to their sporty image. It might not be the type of performance but they are more sporty than the other cars in its class.
maybe we are looking at different directions...i think honda is the premier japanese motorsports company with its total involvement and domination of motor sports and motor bikes...how it is run by engineers, how it rotates its production car engineers into F1 or someother area that pushes the edge of technology (that later gets applied to its production vehicles)...through this technology you get more from less
nissan on the other hand uses big block or forced induction as its main route (with some few noteable exceptions sr16ve [170hp])...that's nice and all but i like efficiency over size...b/c larger engines weigh more and require a heavier frame, etc...this all boils down to lessening the agility of the car...for instance the nsx type r in the jgtc championship doesn't make near the power of its gt-r and supra competitors...but through lighter weight more than makes up for the disadvantage

Bear in mind all of this is my own personal speculation since nissan said that the frontier will be going up size to the size of the tundra which would mean that the xterra would follow suit. I dont know if the x-trail does make it here but nissans plans do make room for it. and since the qx55 will be full sized im assuming that the pathfinder will be also.
No guarantees or promises. Just deductive reasoning. But who knows how reasonable nissan is going to be.
