Amen. Chris Bangle has completely bankrupted the design heritage of a once-fine carmaker.
Take a good long look at the outgoing 750.
Compare to the new(ish) 7.

See how the crisp, clean form of the old 7 has de-evolved into a frumpy, unbalanced, fussy, overwrought barge with none of Audi's or Merc's decorum.

In short: just plain UGLY.
Every objective criticism above can be levied against the E46 (pardoning the M3).

But with the way people buy cars these days, it'll sell regardless...

"It's the new BMW, dahling..."

I don't mind it. The front seems similar to that of the refreshened 3-Series sedan. Does the M3 gets this treatment? I assume not.

Also, I guess BMW is introducing a Performance Package, which includes 10HP more, a 6-speed, revised spring rates, etc. This is in response to every company under the sun going after BMW's 3-Series. Supposedly, with shorter gearing and 10HP more, it knocks the 0-60mph time off by a half a second. The last 3-Series Car & Driver tested was a 330Ci with a 5-speed that did 0-60mph in 5.8 seconds.

That would mean a theoretical 0-60mph time of around 5.3 seconds. That's almost unbelieveable, it eclipses the E36 M3's acceleration.

Don't be :ghey: I already knew it had been mentioned, but was rementioning it simply for the fact that it was a running change along with the facelifted Coupe.
