Well, the Accord isn't the hottest motor on the block either.

So your argument would be that the Accord is just as fast as the NSX because they're in seperate classes, where the Accord is at the top of its class in HP/L (or close to it), but the NSX gets its ass kicked by the Porsche Turbo?

No, my argument is that neither of them (Z4 or IS300) are particularly amazing.

I actually think the tails look good, and I'm just glad they didn't get anything like the 7 series rear.
the tailight shape has not changed, they just modified the inside contours to have a more diamond crystal effect. they look cheap like APC S-Type tails. better looking than the revised 4-door tails with the orange stripe though.
All I was saying was that the dude's a hypocrite for saying the IS300 is "not much of a performer" yet at the same time also saying that the Z4 (while not really much faster) is "simply amazing." A Z4 3.0i weighs 2998 lbs and has 220 hp, the IS is short 5 hp and weighs 200 lbs more. Not a huge difference really. Noticeable, yes. But not the difference from "not much of a performer" to "simply amazing."
The new 3 looks fine, quit yer bitchin.

The main difference in this Z4 v IS300 argument is perception.
If you drive a Z4, the car is pushing your body forward. All of the air around you stays in the same place so it creates a backward forc.. air resistance (this is assuming he drove with the top down... if not, ignore this post). Plus, the Z4 is going to have a lot more noise in it than an IS300.
If you drive an IS300, the car pushes you forward along with everything else in the cabin. Also, since your confined in this cacoon, it will be a lot quieter. You feel no air resistance, so a "push" effect isn't that great, and you hear less noise, making the IS300's similar performance seem dismal.
Perception is what it's all about. Car & Driver pointed this out in their mid-size compairson. The Accord V6 is faster than a 6s, but the 6's is louder and the suspension is firmer, and they all percieved it to be faster.
